First taken up between 1837 to 1840 by Owen MacDonald (6,400 acres)

In 1876 the license was held by Andrew Paton & Sons, ? acres, license fee half year £18 15
Gave evidence to the land commission (Argus20/3/79)
Most of the run had been forfeited by late 1876

Where did the name Noorongong come from

Also spelt Noorengorong and Nurigong. Name is the native name for the lower Mitta River. Could also mean a lightwood tree or a magpie
