Arrival in Victoria 6/3/1879
Teachers/Clergy

I and 5 other Queensland trackers and Senior Constable King under the command of Insp O'Connor had come down to Sydney by ship. We travelled from Sydney to Albury by train and arrived there at about 7 pm on 6/3/1879. The names of my trackers were Troopers Hero, Johnny, Jimmy, Barney, and Jack. We arrived at Benalla at 2pm on 10/3/1879. (RC1073)

I died at Benalla on 19/3/1879 of congestion of the lungs after being sent back form a patrol on the 15th. The change in weather from north Queensland was just too much. We also lacked blanketing and clothing when out on patrol. (Argus20/3/79) (RC1075) (JJK)

Please enjoy the story of the KellyGang, but also remember that at least 10 people died and many more had their lives changed in ways that may still be painful to some people.
