I joined the police force in 1875.

Mansfield Murders 26/10/1878

On 21/10/1878 Sup Sadleir issued the orders for our search party. (Sgt Kennedy has a copy of the order)

I replaced Const Strahan at Greta for a short time (RC8849)
At the time of the murders I was out with a search party with SConst Strahan and Consts Thom and Shoebridge. (RC1727)

On the day of the murders we met Det Ward near Power's Lookout (RC3133)

Sebastopol Cavalcade 7/11/1878
I was sent from Greta to meet Const Kelly at Whorouly after the Sebastopol Cavalcade. We watched the Whorouly bridge for 3 weeks (RC8020)

In July Ass Com Nicolson started regular rifle practice for the officers stationed at Benalla. See my scores (RC1014)
Spring 1879 - Early 1880

On 29/9/1879 I followed on Sup Sadleir's meeting with Foote at Oxley but could not find the place where Tom Lloyd and the KellyGang had been cited (RC 2nd report XII)(RC744)

I watched Aaron Sherritt's home with Const Comyn. (RC14163)

A few weeks before the Glenrowan siege Consts Barry, and Wallace and I were sent to watch the Kelly home (RC5817)

Glenrowan Siege 28/6/1880

Arrival of Sup Sadleir and police from Benalla
I arrived at Glenrowan with Sup Sadeir's party

.The next night I looked after Ned Kelly in the police cells in Benalla. (The Age 11/8/1880)
