My husband was sitting in our home eating his dinner on Monday 9/12 when a man came up to our home asking for the manager of the Faithfull Creek station, Mr Macauley. When my husband said that Macauley was not home, the man did not seem concerned. A few moments later he saw the man beckoning to others who were off at some distance. Shortly 3 men with very good looking 4 horses, 3 bays and a grey, came up to the main station house where they walked in on me without invitation. I was the house keeper.

I asked these men what they wanted. One of these said; 'I am Ned Kelly, but you have nothing to fear from us, we shall do you no harm: but you will have to give us some refreshment, and also food for our horses. That is what we want'.
I called out and my husband came up from our hut.
I introduced him to Mr Kelly by saying, 'There is Mr Kelly, he wants some refreshments and food for his horses.'

By that time Ned Kelly had drawn his revolver to show that he was not joking and my husband said that he would give them what they wanted. Ned Kelly then put my husband and the other men in a store room.

I provided the stamp to post a letter, was it the Cameron letter?(Argus12/12/78) But was this the case (Argus14/12/78)

The next day when Ass Com Nicolson arrived he asked us in what direction did I see the last of the dust of the KellyGang's horses. I pointed the road going down to Violet Town. (RC551)

I gave evidence at Ned Kelly's trial. (Age29/10/80) (Argus29/10/80) (JJK)

What happened to Mr and Mrs Fitzgerald's family

Please enjoy the story of the KellyGang, but also remember that at least 10 people died and many more had their lives changed in ways that may still be painful to some people.
