First run in with the law

In October 1877 horses stolen some time before from James Whitty were found in Howlong.

My friends William and Gustav Baumgarten, Thomas Studders and Samuel Kennedy were charged with receiving the animals knowing that they had been stolen. While I knew Ned Kelly I was not involved in this matter. In the end I was found guilty and sentenced to 8 years in goal. Was I the 'Thompson' who the police could not find? ??? see (Argus4/3/78) (Argus2/5/78) (Argus10/8/80)
